Jody & Beth Osmund began Cedar Valley Susutainable Farm in 2003, leaving corporate jobs in Chicago to return to family farmland north of Ottawa, IL on the banks of Indian Creek. What began as a vegetable CSA has evolved into Chicago land's first Meat CSA (Community Supported Agriculture). We bring sustainably raised, drug and hormone free beef, pork, chicken and eggs to families each month.
In addition to the work we do on our small farm, raising our animals with care and respect, we are advocates for a better food system. We train other aspiring farmers and share our knowledge with colleagues as speakers at farming conferences. Jody serves on the Illinois Local Food Farms and Jobs Council, working on policy at the state level. Beth was a delegate to Terra Madre, the international Slow Food gathering devoted to good, clean and fair food.
